Our Story

Who We Are
The Lifestyle Journal was created by Miguel Hernandez, a police officer, self-published author, lover of books and lifelong student of discipline, performance, and character.

Miguel didn’t write this journal from theory alone. It was built from lived experience. Between long nights on the job, early morning training sessions, observing life and death, setbacks, injuries, failures, and the quiet daily decisions that separate intention from execution, Miguel has a wide variety of experiences to pull from.

As a former college athlete and Ironman finisher, Miguel understands what it means to commit to something long after motivation fades. Endurance training teaches a simple truth: progress is earned through consistency, structure, and accountability, not hype. Those same principles form the backbone of The Lifestyle Journal.

Why This Journal Exists

Over years of service, training, and self-development, Miguel noticed a pattern:

Most people want a better life, but very few have a system to build one.

They read books.

They watch videos.

They feel inspired, but only briefly.

Without clarity, structure, and reflection, momentum fades.

The Lifestyle Journal was created to solve that problem.

It blends timeless principles (discipline, responsibility, integrity, delayed gratification) with practical frameworks that force action. Writing goals clearly. Tracking habits honestly. Reviewing decisions weekly. Measuring what actually matters.

This isn’t motivation.

It’s implementation.

Built on Lived Experience

Everything inside this journal has been tested under real pressure:

  • Training through fatigue and injury
  • Balancing demanding work with personal growth
  • Building discipline when no one is watching
  • Learning how small daily actions compound over time

The prompts, frameworks, and reflections aren’t abstract ideas. They’re tools forged through repetition and refinement.

Who This Is For

The Lifestyle Journal is for people who:

  • Want structure, not slogans
  • Value discipline over shortcuts
  • Are willing to take ownership of their health, finances, mindset, and character
  • Believe that real change is built one decision at a time

If you’re serious about improving your life and staying consistent long after motivation fades, this journal was built for you.
